This is a workshop and tool designed to help people with intellectual disabilities plan for the future after completion of high school and this program aligns perfectly with the current transition protocol framework that is now in place as a joint initiative between the the Ministry of Child and Youth, the Ministry of Community and Social Services, the Ministry of Education, and eventually the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care. Parents should become familiar with this transition protocol as it has become part of the individual education plan (I.E.P.) process within the school boards.

This workshop offers an informal opportunity for families to network while they are learning how to organize all the documentation they receive about their child and the disability. This workshop is offered in partnership with Children First, a local children’s organization that supports children up to age six who have developmental and mental health challenges.
