As family members of individuals with intellectual disabilities we are very aware of the need to communicate effectively. This is a skill we have mastered through trial and error. Many of us deal with individuals with limited verbal skills. During the pandemic our kids are spending long hours confined to their home base and everyone’s coping strategies are being tested.
