Community Living Ontario’s Passport Mentoring Program renamed Student Links
Community Living Ontario has recently changed the name of the Passport Mentoring Program to Student Links. This program is a school based initiative designed to expose students (between the ages of 14 and 21) with an intellectual disability at the high school level to post school experiences and options. The goal is to enhance their capacity to make informed decisions about their future prior to leaving school and enhancing the transition process. This is achieved by connecting them with adult mentors or community connections where similar interests exist.
Community Living Ontario reports that for 2014-2015 year, Student Links coordinators engaged with 287 students from 66 different schools in 10 regions across the province and matched them with 250 mentors.
Locally, or mentor coordinator is Sherry Blanchard. You can contact her at 226-344-5030 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Ensemble office also has flyers available for Student Links available.
